WHY DO YOU DO IT? WHAT DRIVES YOU?
These ideas I have, it hurts really bad to keep them bottled up inside. Like I’m failing myself. The actual art-making process is exciting, but really exhausting. I get really locked in and stop going outside, and my mind is just running in circles all day. It can take months! But the only way I can feel good about myself is to just get that project out of my head and into the world. Then I can finally look at it, see it for what it is, and move on with my fucking life. After a couple months, I look back and take pride in the work, good or bad.
On a more psychological level, being an artist is important to me because it was the first way I learned how to connect with people. I associate making friends with showing people my new work. I’m working on decoupling those two so I can chill out.
