VERA PR was founded by Lydia Sviatoslavsky.
Lydia Sviatoslavsky is a public relations specialist with a background in literature and arts journalism. She has written for Spike Art Magazine, Office, Write or Die, Worms Magazine, and Audiofemme, among others.
Over the last five years, she has worked closely with countless artists and writers, offering services that range from editorial guidance and research to copywriting and social media strategy.
In January 2024, she launched VERA PR. VERA represents her commitment to championing overlooked artists, writers, and cultural institutions.
She lives and works in New York City.
VERA exists at the intersection of cultural production and cultural reception.
Artists CREATE culture.
Editors shape its public life.
VERA studies both.
We spend our time listening—to artists, to editors, to critics, to publishers, and to the cultural ecosystem itself.
We also listen to our clients…
“LYDIA’S KNACK: BLENDING ART & WRITING WITH MARKETING CHOPS.
FOR THE LAUNCH OF MY SEMIOTEXT(E) Novel, The Complete Fear of Kathy Acker, LYDIA DEVISED BUZZY, SOLD-OUT BICOASTAL EVENTS (INCLUDING HER OWN STUNNING VISUALS!) THAT ATTRACTED A NEW FAN BASE AND STILL REVERBERATE.
THE CONNECTIONS & MEDIA COME FROM A RARE STYLE: COOL, PRO, AN ARTIST IN HER OWN RIGHT.”
— Jack Skelley“Working with Lydia at Vera PR was a dream.
I come from the world of alternative literature, where — beyond several obvious podcasts and lit mags/substacks — publicity and promotion is an obscure, intangible thing that often seems ‘not worth it.’
Lydia not only understands the landscape of contemporary arts and literature, even the niche subcultures therein, but is willing to craft personalized outreach strategies to connect with people who actually care about this work. She also throws a great launch party.
Highly recommended.”
— Christopher Zeischegg“Lydia is both a luminous person (this is important) and, moreover, publicist.
In a world of Hep cats vs. Squares, Hot rods vs. Nerds, REbels vs. Conformists, Skaters vs. Preps, Burnouts vs. Try-hards, Lydia is the coolest kid on the block - effortlessly distinct, quietly confident, and fully aware of it.
Working with Lydia is a partnership which includes and involves a sense of intimacy, with one-to-one collaboration and a bright conceptualism that larger agencies fail to provide. She brings a calm, professional edge to everything she does, making originality feel not just natural, but reliable.”
— Richard Cabut“Finally: a collaborative, cool, delightfully rogue and devoted PR company for the wild ones and weirdos.
When my first novel came out, I felt exhausted at the prospect of promoting it. Enter: Lydia. She’s an artist who is also deeply knowledgeable about the media landscape. She energized the process as we worked together to create a plan to get Vivienne into the hands of as many interested and interesting readers as possible.”
